Dácil is 9!

22 01 2017

She just keeps on celebrating birthdays… And I’m starting to get used to the fact that she gets through the years in spite of many medical predictions during her first weeks. Who’d have imagined her 9th birthday when she was in hospital, between heart surgeries, full of tubes keeping her alive.

So many reasons to celebrate! And as mum has to work we’ll have a party some other day, and Dácil will have ice cream and presents twice!

Yone’s second premiere

13 01 2017

Tonight’s the night. Project Lazarus is premiered in Spain. The special premiere here in Tenerife is in the capital’s modern art museum, the TEA, as it served as a setting for some futuristic scenes. The TEA has a movie theatre and shows all of its film in original version with subtitles.

Mateo Gil was present. This young director and script writer from Gran Canaria is responsible for the script of Mar Adentro, Tesis and Vanilla Sky, among others. And his new film, Project Lazarus was shot entirely here in Tenerife, with English speaking actors (Oona Chaplin being one of them). Yone is in a few flashback scenes when the main character remembers his childhood.

Yone brought along his best friend Jaime. He met up with Mateo Gil. They exchanged autographs, had a pleasant talk and promised to get  back together in the not so distant future. What a night!

Yone’s letter to the three kings

6 01 2017

We told Yone about the three kings last year… And about magic, and about faith… He’s in bed now. Unable to fall asleep. Our shoes are ready. There’s a carrot for the camels and some water.

It all started  with a letter:

Expectant shoes (mine’s the klompje):

And then there’s the magic:

Let’s see who’s up first tomorrow morning…
